NEW SOLUTION DELIVERS UNPARALLELED SCANNING EXCELLENCE FOR WAREHOUSING

Honeywell has launched the Granit™ 1981i wireless industrial scanner into Australia and New Zealand, the company’s best industrial scanner to date. Powered by the Intermec EX25 barcode scan engine with integrated near/far area imaging technology, the Granit™ 1981i features full-range area-imaging technology capable of reading both 1D and 2D barcodes from six inches (15 cm) to over 50 feet (15 meters). From poor quality 7.5 mil paper codes scanned at arm’s length to 100 mil retro-reflective codes hanging from warehouse rafters, the 1981i is built to read virtually all bar codes across its unmatched range, supporting maximum operator productivity in the harshest environments.
The 1981i is packed with technologies that make it simple to use. An integrated laser pointer aiming system with auto-illumination, omnidirectional reading capability, and support for centre-decode scanning take the guesswork out of scanning at extended ranges. Operators of fork trucks equipped with vehicle-mounted mobile computers, such as the Honeywell Thor series, will appreciate how the full-range scanning capability of 1981i allows them to remain seated—and hence more productive—while scanning pallets at extended ranges. And with Bluetooth™ technology, complete freedom of movement up to 100 meters (330 feet) provides additional operator convenience.
As a member of the Granit family of scanners, the 1981i is built to withstand the varied demands of harsh working environments. Utilizing the Granit housing that has long set the standard for scanner reliability, the 1981i is rated IP65 and is built to survive 5,000 tumbles from 3.2 feet (one meter) and 50 drops to concrete from 6.5 feet (two meters)—even in temperatures as low as -30°C. As a result, operations that deploy Granit scanners can expect to experience minimal device downtime and a lower overall cost of ownership
